About Me
Karen Alexander ~ Active Aging & Wellness Advocate…
My passion is helping Women discover their own strength, reclaim their health, and embrace a new chapter of life—one filled with vitality, joy, and purpose.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I raised my two sons and owned a successful home renovation company. I’ve always loved the Bay Area’s beauty—its mountains, beaches, and sunshine-filled days—but it was my own journey through hardship that led me to wellness and the work I do today.
My Journey to Wellness
In my late forties, my health took a sharp decline. At 49, I was fifty pounds overweight, depressed, anxious, and relying on multiple prescription medications that only left me with harmful side effects and no real relief. I could not sleep, I was barely functioning, and I believed this was just “aging” and my life from then on.
But deep down, I knew there had to be another way. I decided to take back my health. Step by step, I began walking, choosing real food instead of strict diets, and leaning into movement and mindfulness. Over time, I lost fifty pounds, eliminated all medications, and discovered hiking as my passion.
That was more than fourteen years ago. Today, I live an active, healthy, and joyful lifestyle—and I use my experience to help others do the same.
Why I do this work
I specialize in active aging—helping Women who feel stuck, unhealthy, or defeated by the aging process find hope and transformation. I know firsthand the challenges of breaking old habits and creating new ones, and I also know the freedom, confidence, and happiness that come when you do.
Along the way, I also gained a deep understanding of our healthcare system—both its strengths and its shortcomings. My mission is to help others avoid the pain I endured, and instead find healing through nature, movement, and mindful living.
A Tribute
The name “Simplee” is a tribute to my sons’ father, Steven Lee Summers. His passing from alcoholism profoundly shaped my journey and inspired me to help others heal. Through this work, I honor his memory and dedicate myself to guiding others toward health, happiness, and a life they love.
Today
Through Simplee Wellness, I share what I’ve learned and lived:
That it’s never too late to transform your health.
That healing is possible without extreme diets or quick fixes.
That movement, connection, and mindful living can change everything.
